Georgian pianist Giorgi Gigashvili presents a performance of Prokofiev’s Sonatas in this BBC Radio 3 Lunchtime Concert.
Born in Tbilisi in 2000, Gigashvili studied at the Paliashvili Central Music School for Gifted Children followed by the Tbilisi State Conservatory, under Revaz Tavadze. In April 2019 he won First Prize at the Vigo International Piano Competition and since September 2021 he has been studying with Nelson Goerner in Geneva.
