Discover the timeless sound of Claire M Singer’s Cairngorms-inspired compositions in a performance by the composer with the London Contemporary Orchestra.
Acclaimed composer and performer Claire M Singer, known for her experimental approach to the organ, celebrates the release of her new album with a special concert with the London Contemporary Orchestra.
Programme highlights include her new album’s title track, Gleann Ciùin, commissioned for the Queen Elizabeth Hall’s Flentrop organ in 2019 and nominated for an Ivor Novello Award in 2020. Singer also performs works from her albums Solas and Saor specially orchestrated for the Queen Elizabeth Hall organ and the London Contemporary Orchestra.
Deeply inspired by the dramatic landscapes of her native Scotland, Singer’s work weaves rich harmonic textures and complex overtones, crafting ever-shifting melodic and rhythmic patterns that often fade almost as quickly as they emerge.
